Students do not have to apply for scholarships; they are automatically awarded if eligible.

To be considered for one of our transfer academic scholarships, you must:

Submit a completed application for admission by our preferred deadline of December 1 for Spring term admission or April 1 for Fall term admission, including the essay and all official transcripts. *Students are encouraged to submit applications by the preferred deadlines. However, we will still consider applications submitted after these dates and will continue to award scholarships to eligible students.

Be regularly admissible to the University as a full-time student

Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale, based on all college level work. If you have attended more than one college, your cumulative GPA is calculated based on grades from all colleges attended.

Have completed at least 12 credits of coursework at the college level.
Community College Transfer Awards
Rider University Full Tuition Transfer Trustee Scholarship
LEAD THE HERD! Apply for the prestigious Transfer Trustee Scholarship, a full-tuition scholarship given to our TOP 3 community college graduates who plan to start at Rider in the Fall semester. Rider's Trustee Scholarship provides FULL TUITION for 2 years of full-time study, a value of over $72,500. Learn More.
PTK Scholarships
Beginning with new transfers entering in 2017 or later, if you attend a community college and are a member of Phi Theta Kappa, you will receive an additional $1,000 on top of your merit based scholarship above. At Rider our top transfer scholarships are worth nearly 50% of tuition. For full details, visit the Office of Financial Aid.
NJ STARS II
If you are a NJ STARS scholar graduating from a New Jersey community college with a 3.25 or higher GPA, you are eligible to participate in NJ STARS II at Rider. This award is $2,500 per year ($1,250 per semester), and is renewable for up to four semesters for a maximum value of $5,000. The award is made in addition to Rider's academic scholarships and grants. For details, contact the Office of Financial Aid at 609-896-5360.
Additional Aid Opportunities
Legacy Awards: $2,000 annually ($1,000 per semester)
Awarded to new full-time students who are children, grandchildren or siblings of Rider graduates. Renewable for up to three years of study at Rider University.
Sibling Grant: $2,000 annually ($1,000 per semester)
Available to any new full-time undergraduate student enrolling at Rider University who has a sibling currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate at Rider. Awarded to each additional sibling as long as multiple siblings are enrolled, up to three years.
Maintaining Your Scholarship
For entering Fall 2022:
Scholarships are renewable for up to three consecutive years of full-time study provided student remains in good academic standing with the University, which is determined by the Committee of Academic Standing within each academic college.
Non-applicable to Trustee Scholarship recipients, must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5]
