Charlotte W. Newcombe Scholarships
The Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation and Rider University have established a fund to provide scholarships for mature second-career women. All Rider University women, age 25 or older, who have completed at least half of a baccalaureate degree program, are eligible to be considered. Students will be notified by the financial aid office if they are selected. Learn more and apply.
Dean's Scholar Awards
Dean's Scholar Awards are available to Continuing Education incoming and re-admitted students who register for at least six (6) credits during their first semester at the University. The award amounts vary and are subject to the available funds. The awards may be renewed to include one consecutive semester, provided that students enroll in at least two courses (6 credits) in each semester.
Maida Scholarship
Two scholarships are awarded annually to newly admitted Continuing Education degree candidates. Students must have previously completed a minimum of 12 credits either at Rider or in transfer, with a minimum cumulative 2.5 GPA to be eligible to apply. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Scholarships, which are renewable for a maximum of three years, are awarded on the basis of demonstrated financial need and academic record. First consideration is given to Mercer County residents. This scholarship is handled through Rider University's Financial Aid office and is an Endowed Scholarship.

Phyllis K. Snyder Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is for Continuing Education part-time mature female students pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Continuing Education students, age 30 or older, raising a family while attending college and maintaining a 2.5 overall GPA are eligible to apply. The scholarship is based on financial need as well as merit. This scholarship is handled through Rider University's Financial Aid office and is an Endowed Scholarship.
Soroptimist Women's Opportunity Awards*
The Women’s Opportunity Awards program assists women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects. PEO Program for Continuing Education*
Provides need based grants to women in the United States and Canada whose education has been interrupted and who find it necessary to return to school to support themselves and/or their families. A woman is eligible to apply for a Program for Continuing Education (PCE) grant if she:
- Is sponsored by a P.E.O. chapter
- Is a citizen of and studying in the United States or Canada
- Has had at least 24 consecutive months as a non-student sometime in her adult life while being within 24 months of completing the educational program that will lead
to employment or job advancement in her chosen field - Is not enrolled in a doctoral degree program

Alpha Sigma Lambda Foundation Scholarship
Attend an institution with an active Alpha Sigma Lambda chapter and may be nominated by that chapter, but the scholarship applicant does not have to be a chapter member. Rider has an active ASL chapter. Applicant must be 24 years of age or older, be matriculated in a degree program leading to the baccalaureate degree, have completed 30 graded semester hours in institutional coursework by the completion of the fall or January term at the institution currently enrolled with a cumulative G.P.A. of at least 3.2 on a 4.0 scale, and demonstrate financial need for the current academic year at the institution where the student is currently enrolled. Complete the application materials in the required format and submit it to the Chapter Councilor at Rider with sufficient lead time for verification.
