Next Steps for Enrolled Students

Your myRider portal is a personalized hub for campus resources and services. 

• Visit myrider.rider.edu
• For first-time visitors: 
  • Go to myrider.rider.edu and click “If you have not claimed your RIDER KEY, do that here”. Enter your Bronc ID, last name, and date of birth. 
  • Read and accept Rider University’s Rights and Responsibilities of Users policy. 
  • Retrieve your username. Please take note of this username and keep it in a safe place. You will use it to log into your myRider portal. 
  • Create your Rider Key password. 
  • After claiming your Rider Key, you’ll be prompted to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA).
• To log-in: Enter your domain username (e.g., username@rider.edu) and Rider Key password.

* You can find your Bronc ID in email communication titled "Claim your Rider Key", on your acceptance packet, and on your Be a Bronc applicant dashboard.

Tips for setting up your myRider portal:

• Use Google Chrome on a PC, Mac, or tablet (not recommended on a mobile phone).
• Do not use dashes, slashes, or spaces, when entering the birthday information.
• Please allow up to five minutes after claiming the Rider Key before logging into myRider.

Rider University provides students with Gmail accounts. Your Rider email password is the same as your Rider Key password.

• Go to gmail.rider.edu. 
• Log in using your Rider Key username and password. 
• Start checking your Rider email frequently! All future University communications will be sent to your Rider email.

Apply for housing today! 

All first-year students must reside on campus. Follow these steps below: 

• To apply for housing, log into myRider and access the Housing Portal.
• Two-Year Residency Requirement – First and Second Year Students
  • Full-time, unmarried undergraduate students under the age of 21 who have completed fewer than 54 credit hours are required to live in university housing. An exception is made for students who commute from a parent or legal guardian’s permanent residence located within 40 miles of Rider University’s campus.
• Students may be exempt from the Two-Year Residency Requirement under the following circumstances:
  • The student will commute from a parent or legal guardian’s permanent residence located within 40 miles of campus.
  • The student is 21 years of age or older at the start of the academic term in which the residency requirement would otherwise apply.
  • The student is married or is part of a legal domestic partnership.
  • The student has completed 54 or more credit hours at Rider University or another accredited college or university.
  • The student has resided in university housing for at least four semesters.
  • Fifty percent or more of the students enrolled credit hours are delivered in an online format.
• Students exempt from the Two-Year Residence Requirement must complete the Residency Requirement Waiver Form by logging in to the myRider Portal, open the Housing Application, and complete the form. This confirms your plan for the upcoming academic year only.
  • Reminder: you must live at your primary residence. Other off-campus addresses are not permitted.

• Check your Rider email regularly for updates on room assignments and move-in details.

If your family's financial circumstances have changed since submitting your FAFSA, you may request a review of your financial aid offer.

The Financial Aid Appeal process is available only to admitted and deposited first-time freshman and transfer students for Fall 2026.

Submit a Financial Aid Appeal

You will be prompted to log in using your Be a Bronc dashboard credentials.

• You must have a completed FAFSA  or NJ Alternative Financial Aid Application on file.
• Submission of an appeal does not guarantee additional financial aid.
• You will receive a communication about your appeal within 2 weeks of submission.

All students are required to sign the Financial Enrollment Agreement on the myRider portal. This agreement is required even if you have already completed the Financial Agreement to Register (enroll).

Deadline: 

• Residential students: Complete by the day before arriving on campus.
• Commuter & online students: Complete by the first day of classes.

A hold will remain on your student account until this agreement is signed.

How to complete the agreement:

1. Log into myRider and select the Student tab.
2. Click  Financial Agreement under the Announcements or Register banners. Both will take you to the same page.
3. Click "Financial Agreement” to open the document.
4. Review the agreement, then choose:
   1. “I agree to the terms & conditions” → Confirmation message appears, and you're all set.
   2. “I disagree” → You will be redirected and unable to enroll.

University statements for all semesters as well as monthly statements will be addressed to students and sent to their Rider email address. 

Parents and other payers must be set up as authorized users to access billing and make payments.

All full-time domestic students are required to have health insurance coverage. Students must either WAIVE or ENROLL in the University's Student Health Insurance Plan (SHIP) each academic year.

• Complete this step by September 2026. 
• View important Student Insurance information - including SHIP coverage and costs, and how to waive/enroll. 

Students may opt-out of the SHIP by submitting a waiver form documenting proof of comparable coverage. If you do not submit a waiver form by the deadline, you will automatically be enrolled in SHIP and responsible for the cost of the insurance plan.

Submit your required health forms on the Healthy Broncs portal.

Rider University requires all students enrolled to provide immunization records prior to taking classes and/or moving on campus. Information regarding medical and religious exemptions can be found on the Student Health Center website. Exemptions must be submitted via the Healthy Broncs portal.

New Student Orientation is mandatory for all incoming students. You must choose either a single day or overnight session.

This fun-filled and informative event offers opportunities for you to get to know your classmates and prepare for a successful transition to college life.

Important information:

• While the majority of Orientation is for students only, each session offers a dedicated Family & Guest Program (for the overnight sessions, the Families and Guests Program occurs on Day 2).
• Placement testing should be completed prior to your orientation session.

New undergraduate students may be required to complete placement testing in specific subject areas. These requirements may vary based on your college and choice of major. Visit the Placement Testing web page for details. 

Placement testing should be completed prior to New Student Orientation to ensure you receive an appropriate course schedule.

If you need testing accommodations, the Student Accessibility and Support Services (SASS) office must receive your Confidential Self Disclosure Form and required documentation prior to taking the test. The office will review and approve your request in advance, if appropriate. Contact accessibility@rider.edu for additional information.

Deadline: August 1, 2026 (or as soon as available)

• First-year students must submit final high school transcripts.
• Transfer students must submit official college transcripts upon completion of any courses in progress.

Please arrange to have all final official academic transcripts (including any recently completed academic work) forwarded to the Office of Admissions at admtranscripts@rider.edu. 

If you’ve earned AP, IB, or Dual Enrollment credits during high school, please send your scores or transcript directly to the University. Please refer to college credit for high school students to review our policies.

If you want to change the academic program of study that you specified on your admission application, please email a written request to the Office of Admission at admissions@rider.edu prior to the start of classes.
