Why are we transitioning to the RIDER KEY?
OIT strives to maintain the best security options for our community. To strengthen security and access to Rider electronic resources, OIT is leading the transitioning away from a homegrown Identity and Access Management System that uses Easypass to a more secure, vendor supported tool utilizing the RIDER KEY to comply with cybersecurity audit recommendations and security best practices.

What is the RIDER KEY?
RIDER KEY is your electronic identity at Rider University. It is the same as your Easypass username and is also the part of your Rider email address preceding the "@" symbol. For example, if your email address is [email protected], then your RIDER KEY is smithw.  With your RIDER KEY you can access myRider, the wireless network (nowires), Canvas, public computer labs and other electronic resources.

What is the RIDER KEY used for?
Examples of services that use the RIDER KEY include:

  • myRider.rider.edu — the University portal
  • Nowires — the University wireless network
  • Canvas — the University learning management system

How long do I have to claim my RIDER KEY?
The transition to RIDER KEY starts on June 25, 2018. A retirement date for Easypass has not been set.
