Spring 2026 Return to Campus Update
The Residence Education and University Housing Office is excited to welcome you back for the Spring 2026 semester. We hope you had a restful break and are feeling refreshed and ready for the term ahead.
We are aware of a potential snowstorm expected to impact our area this weekend. Your safety is our priority, and we understand that winter travel conditions may make returning to campus as originally scheduled more challenging for some students.
Updated Residence Hall Reopening
As you may have heard, the University will be closed on Monday, January 26, and classes will be held asynchronously on Tuesday, January 27.
Due to the campus closure and the potential for power outages, we strongly encourage residents to delay moving into their residential spaces until Tuesday, January 27, between noon and 7:00 p.m.
Please be aware that any loss of power in residential buildings would significantly impact heat and electricity.
If you are unable to move in during that time, our staff will still be available to welcome you on Saturday, January 24, between noon and 7:00 p.m. For residents who will be on campus this weekend, Resident Assistants and Resident Directors will be present and available.
Dining Schedule for January 24 - January 27
The following dining locations will be open:

New Residents and ID Cards
New residents who need to pick up their Bronc ID card should report to Public Safety. Residence Life staff will be available to assist with room key pickup.
Updates from the Department of Public Safety
Beginning at 9:00 PM, Saturday, January 24, 2026, College Drive, the road near Kroner Hall that leads into the Residential Complex will be closed for plowing operations. No cars will be permitted to park beyond these barricades, near or around the residence halls.
The C&R parking lot, the large parking lot inside the South Entrance of campus that runs adjacent to Skillman Ave. and the White Pines Apartments, will be closed for the duration of the storm. Please park your cars in proper parking spaces only, in your designated lots that are open for use.
Any car left parked on any road or found to be obstructing plowing operations is subject to being towed at the owner’s expense. This will go into effect at 9:00 PM, Saturday, January 24, 2026.
Additional Information
Public Safety has a limited number of emergency flashlights available for use. They can be obtained at West House, the public safety building and must be returned when power is restored. We also have shovels and snow brushes available to help clear off cars and dig them out. Students must turn in an ID to obtain these items at West House.
