All residences and dining facilities will be closed to students during the following periods:
- Thanksgiving Break
- End of Fall Semester
- Spring Break
- and other designated periods when school is not in session.
The Department of Residential Education and University Housing will set closing times. In addition, students must leave the residence unit within twenty-four (24) hours after their last examination, termination of enrollment, or release from the agreement.
Students who wish to stay beyond the official closing dates must submit a Housing Extension Request through the Housing Portal via myRider. To avoid late fees, requests should be submitted before the deadlines listed below. Approved requests submitted after the deadlines will incur a $200 late fee.
DEADLINE DATES FOR HOUSING EXTENSIONS
- Thanksgiving Break requests due by Friday, November 13, 2026 at 5 p.m.
- End of Fall Semester requests due by Friday, November 20, 2026 at 5 p.m.
- Spring Break requests due by Friday, February 26, 2027 at 5 p.m.
