Minor Guest Policy
Rider University students who wish to host an overnight guest between the ages of 15 and 17 (a “Minor Guest”) must follow the procedures outlined below. The safety and supervision of Minor Guests is a shared responsibility, and all University policies remain in effect during the Minor Guest's visit.
Requirements
- Advance Approval Required
- Students must submit a Minor Guest Permission Form 72 hours in advance of the visit.
- Host Responsibility
- The student host must remain with the guest at all times.
- Hosts are responsible for the conduct of their guests and ensuring that university policies are followed.
- Minor Guests are not permitted to stay more than two consecutive nights and may not be signed in again for at least one full month following a previous visit.
- Policy Adherence
- All university policies, including those outlined in the Student Code of Conduct and Residential Life Handbook, apply to guests.
- Violations may result in conduct action against the host and removal of the guest from campus.
Important Notes
- Minors under the age of 15 are not permitted to stay overnight in the residence halls.
- Failure to follow this process may result in denial of guest privileges or referral to the Office of Community Standards.
