All regularly enrolled students receive an identification card (ID card). Students are required to carry their ID card with them at all times and to show it upon request of authorized personnel such as Public Safety and Residence Life staff.
What is my ID Card for?
The ID card is used for access to most residence halls, all residential dining facilities, practice rooms on the Princeton campus, and the Student Recreation Center and Health Center. It is required for entry to the Rider Pub and certain campus events. It is also required for access to various University services including the Library, cashier’s and bursar’s offices and when checks are used at the University Store & Westminster Music & Books.
The ID card is considered official ONLY when it is electronically validated for the current term. ID cards are never transferable. Fraudulent information or lending an ID card to anyone subjects the holder to disciplinary action. The ID card must be surrendered upon withdrawal from the University to the Dean of Students.
What if I lose my ID card?
The first time replacement charge for a lost or mutilated card is $30. After that, a new card costs $50.
When do I get my ID card?
ID cards are issued by Public Safety during summer orientation and during the first week of the fall and spring semesters in the Bart Luedeke Center and at the Department’s offices in West House at the south entrance of campus all other times.
