Safe Broncs mobile app

The Safe Broncs app is intended for on-campus use. Most features can be accessed off campus, but any location-based features — such as the mobile blue light and I’m OK! features — are limited to on-campus use.

The mobile blue light function will not work unless your location features are activated. Users are encouraged to enable them when they download the app to ensure that they can use the mobile blue light in case of an emergency.

By enabling your location features, Public Safety will be able to pinpoint your location on campus should you activate the mobile blue light feature and request their assistance. Your location will not be accessible or tracked otherwise via Public Safety outside of actively pushing the “Activate mobile blue light” button on the app.

No, the app is not connected to either and does not require you to log in using your credentials.

The Safe Broncs app was developed in partnership with the same company that provides the University’s Rider Alert emergency communications platform. Safe Broncs is a separate, complimentary safety app that provides the Rider community with additional safety features and information. Rider Alert remains the only official emergency communication system for Rider University.
