Fall 2025 Move-In Information

The Office of Residence Life is here to support you before, during, and after move-in. If you ever have a question or need help with anything housing-related, please contact our office by email at reslife@rider.edu or phone at 609-896-5057.

When you arrive on Move-in Day, be sure to connect with one of our Bronc Buddies! These student volunteers will be ready and excited to help you during your move-in experience and welcome you to your new home away from home.

Below is important information regarding move-in dates/times and processes. Click each section to expand details.

Move-In Schedule

There are three general move-in periods based on the floor breakdown for each building. Some buildings may vary but most buildings will be structured in this way.

Log into the Housing Portal via myRider to see your housing assignment. Your floor is the first number in your room number. (For example, if your room assignment is Olsen A 209-1, you reside on the 2nd floor.)

FloorMove-in appointment time
3rd and 4th floors 9 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
2nd floor 10:30 a.m. – 12 p.m.

Preparing for Move-in Day

Incoming students must complete their pre-entrance health requirements.

New Jersey law requires vaccination compliance. Students must provide proof of the following mandatory immunizations:

  • Hepatitis B: The Hepatitis B vaccine is required for all students enrolled in 12 or more credits as well as all athletes, residents and international students.
  • MMR: Students are required to be vaccinated against measles, mumps and rubella.
  • Meningitis: The Meningitis ACYW vaccine, given at or after the student's 16th birthday, is required for all first time freshmen (regardless of residency). For all other students (transfer, graduate, exchange) the Meningitis ACYW vaccine is required for any students residing or congregating on campus (this includes all D-1 athletes) within the last 5 years.
  • Tuberculosis (TB) Screening:  All students must complete the TB screening questionnaire in the portal. If you answer “Yes” to any question, you must provide results from a TB test (PPD or Quantiferon Gold) done in the past 12 months.

Students out of compliance will not be permitted to move in and may be fined.

Please submit your immunization records via the Healthy Broncs Portal by the July 15 deadline. Do not email, mail, or hand-deliver records. Only submissions through the portal will be reviewed.

Questions? Call the Student Health Center at 609-896-5060 or email healthcenter@rider.edu.

All students must schedule their 15-minute arrival window in the Housing Portal by August 1, 2025. This is your arrival time, not the full unloading duration.

  • Log into the Housing Portal via myRider.
  • Click “Specialty Housing and Other Processes.”
  • Choose the “Move-In Date/Time” link.
  • Pick your 15-minute arrival window.
  • Once selected, your move-in info will appear in the portal.

In order to manage the process of our residents moving onto campus, we ask that students and families adhere to the student’s self-selected date and time they select in the Housing Portal. If you are running late on move-in day, please email reslife@rider.edu with your updated arrival time to avoid being marked as a no-show.

If you’ve been approved for early arrival, you do not need to select a time. Your move-in date and time will be pre-assigned and shared with you directly.

Requesting Early Arrival

Students not affiliated with a campus group can request to move in early by submitting a form in the Housing Portal. Request must be submitted by August 1, 2025

  • Early Move-In Day: Sunday, August 24, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
  • Fees and meal plan:
    • $200 Early Arrival Housing Fee
    • Students will be required to purchase an Early Arrival Meal Plan as well 12 meals at $160 or 8 meals at $120.
  • Students arriving early without approval will be fined per unauthorized day based on their scheduled date and time

Pre-Approved Group Arrival

If you’re part of a pre-approved campus group, you’ll be instructed to apply for Early Arrival and select your group name in the form. There will be no added cost for groups and meals will be covered for these students OR the organization you are associated with will be covering these expenses.

  • Group Arrival Schedule: (All group move-ins: 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.)
    • Prior to Sunday, August 24 – Student Government Association (SGA), Student Athletes in pre-season camps
    • Wednesday, August 27 – Bridge Programs (Boner, EOP, TRIO), students attending last Orientation, and members of the Greek Executive Board

Bronc Buddies Early Arrival

Students who are volunteering to be Bronc Buddies during the Fall 2025 Move-in Process will be permitted to move-in early. Housing and meal plan costs for early arrival will be waived; however, if you don’t attend training and/or your shift, you’ll be charged the full amount: $200 (housing cost) and $160 (meal plan).

  • Bronc Buddies Move-In Day: Friday, Aug. 29, 2025 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Bronc Buddy requirements:

  • Attend training on Saturday, Aug. 30
  • Work one shift on both Sunday, Aug. 31 AND Monday, Sept. 1

All students must have a valid Bronc ID, available as a physical card or through the GET Mobile app. Your student ID grants access to:

  • Residence halls
  • Dining and recreation facilities
  • Events and student services

You are required to always carry your official photo ID and present it to University staff upon request. Your photo will also appear in University systems, such as Canvas.

After submitting your picture online, you may visit the Public Safety office between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. seven days a week to pick up a physical ID card.

The app is available from the App Store or Google Play.

Knowing who you're living with can make move-in smoother. Here’s how to find your roommate(s):

  • Log into the Housing Portal via myRider.
  • Under your 2025–2026 Housing Application, click “Continue Application.” Select “Application Status.”
  • You'll see the names of everyone assigned to your room, suite, or apartment.

Check out the Campus Living Guide for information on room furnishings, measurements, packing lists, and other advice for settling in to your new campus home.

Packing tips:

  • Coordinate with your roommates to avoid bringing duplicate items.
  • Use labeled bins and storage containers for easy packing.
  • Pack a “First Night” bag with essentials like: sheets and pillows, change of clothes, toiletries, device chargers and other items you may want to access before you’re fully unpacked.

Consider using preferred vendors like Roomie (Microfridge), Campus Comfort (linens), and Storage Squad (storage and shipping).

When you arrive for move-in:

  • Unload first (15-min max curbside). Family or friends should unload belongings onto the sidewalk near your hall.
  • Park your vehicle in designated zones. After unloading, park in designated student areas near the Burt Luedeke Center (BLC). Public Safety will direct you to available spaces.
  • Student check-in. Head to the check-in area for your building to pick up your room key and complete check-in.
  • Room review. Once you’re in your room, make note of any issues and bring them to your RA or hall staff during your first community meeting.

Helping hands: You are encouraged to bring family or friends to help make your move-in quicker and easier. Bronc Buddies and staff will be available to assist and provide carts. Carts are limited and distributed first-come, first-served.

Unexpected late arrival? Please email reslife@rider.edu with your updated arrival time to avoid being marked as a no-show.
