At Rider, students do not have to apply for transfer scholarships; they are automatically awarded if you are eligible.

To be considered for one of our transfer academic scholarships, you must:
- Submit a completed application for admission by our preferred deadline of December 1 for Spring term admission or April 1 for Fall term admission, including the essay and all official transcripts.
- To be considered for the Rider's full-tuition Transfer Trustee Scholarship, you must apply by February 1, 2024.
- Students are encouraged to submit applications by the preferred deadlines. However, we will still consider applications submitted after these dates and will continue to award scholarships to eligible students.
- Be regularly admissible to the University as a full-time student
- Have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 on a 4.0 scale, based on all college level work. If you have attended more than one college, your cumulative GPA is calculated based on grades from all colleges attended.
- Have completed at least 12 credits of coursework at the college level.
Rider University Full Tuition Transfer Trustee Scholarship
Apply for the prestigious Transfer Trustee Scholarship, a full-tuition scholarship given to the top 3 community college graduates who plan to start at Rider in the fall semester. Rider's Trustee Scholarship provides FULL TUITION for two years of full-time study. Learn More.
PTK Scholarships
If you attend a community college and are a member of Phi Theta Kappa, you will receive an additional $2,000 on top of your merit based scholarship above. Learn more about Rider's benefits for PTK members. For details, contact the Office of Financial Aid at 609-896-5360.
NJ STARS II
If you are a NJ STARS scholar graduating from a New Jersey community college with a 3.25 or higher GPA, you are eligible to participate in NJ STARS II at Rider. This award is $2,500 per year ($1,250 per semester), and is renewable for up to four semesters for a maximum value of $5,000. The award is made in addition to Rider's academic scholarships and grants. For details, contact the Office of Financial Aid at 609-896-5360.

$2,000 annually

Alumni Legacy Award
$2,000 annually ($1,000 per semester)
The Legacy Award is provided to all students who are the child, grandchild or sibling of a Rider graduate. Qualified students receive a $2,000 grant that is renewable for up to four years of study at Rider University (up to $8,000 total). The policy to maintain the Legacy Award is outlined on the application. Please note that if Legacy Award appears on your financial aid award letter, you do not need to complete the application. However, students must maintain the eligibility requirements outlined on the Legacy Award Policy/Application form.
Athletic Scholarships
As an NCAA Division I school, student athletes at Rider may be awarded scholarships based on athletic ability in one of Rider's intercollegiate sports. Awarded athletic scholarships must comply with NCAA regulations. Student athletes are required to complete the FAFSA annually. Interested students should contact the athletics department at 609-896-5054 for the appropriate coach's name and telephone extension or visit gobroncs.com.
Community Scholars/Bonner Leaders
This service-based scholarship program provides education awards based on the amount of hours served on a community service project. Admitted students with significant community service experience during high school are invited to apply. Applications are available to newly admitted students beginning in January each year. Foreign Language Scholarships
$2,000 annually ($1,000 per semester)
The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at Rider University offers $2,000 annually-renewable scholarships to incoming undergraduates who declare a foreign language major. Majors are offered in French and Spanish. Learn more.
Gail Bierenbaum Women’s Leadership Council (GBWLC) Mentoring Program
$1,000 annually ($500 per semester)
The GBWLC mentoring program provides formal mentoring relationships for Rider women students to help them find success at Rider as well as empower students to succeed in life beyond college. Renewable for up to four years of study at Rider University.
Teacher Education Scholarship
Up to $5,000 annually
Beginning in fall 2024, undergraduate students entering Rider University's elementary education or secondary education or music education programs may be eligible for an annually renewable scholarship award, up to $5,000 value. Learn More
Sibling Grants
$2,000 annually ($1,000 per semester)
Available to any new full-time undergraduate student enrolling at Rider University who has a sibling currently enrolled as a full-time undergraduate at Rider. Awarded to each additional sibling as long as multiple siblings are enrolled, up to four years. Enrolling siblings must complete the Sibling Application and submit it to the Office of Financial Aid.

Maintaining Your Scholarship
Scholarships are renewable for up to three consecutive years of full-time study provided student remains in good academic standing with the University, which is determined by the Committee of Academic Standing within each academic college.
Trustee Scholarship recipients must maintain a minimum 3.5 GPA.
Continuing education for adult learners
No matter where you began your journey, Rider University is eager to help you complete the path to your degree. Students aged 25 and over qualify for Continuing Education Program (CEP) admission. Benefits for adult learners include low per-credit tuition rates, flexible learning options, individualized counseling and a range of resources structured to help you reach your educational and career goals.
