Please submit the following to complete your application:

  • Online application for graduate study
  • $50 non-refundable application fee
  • A statement of aims and objectives (minimum 500 words)
  • Official transcripts from every college or university attended submitted directly from the institution with a minimum 2.75 cumulative GPA. A bachelor's degree is required for full admission to a graduate program. You may be admitted conditionally pending receipt of your degree.
  • Two professional letters of recommendation
  • Current resume
  • Virtual group interview by invitation of faculty*
  • For admission to Clinical Mental Health Counseling, M.A. (Dance/Movement Therapy Concentration) 
    • Prerequisite: Dance training in at least two different dance or movement forms, with in depth experience in at least one.
    • Movement interview for eligible Dance Movement Therapy candidates
  • Application deadlines: February 1 (fall) and October 1 (spring)

    1. From among the most significant issues in education/ organizations today, what problem areas of practice are you interested in investigating during your doctoral study? Your response should include the problem of practice, why you want to investigate it, and a strong rationale for the significance of the problem. (1,000-1,200 words)
    2. How have your previous research, work, and life experiences prepared you for the Rider University doctoral program in Educational Leadership? (300-400 words)
  • Official transcripts from every college or university attended submitted directly from the institution including evidence of a master’s degree. 
  • Three professional letters of recommendation: 1 faculty and 2 professional
  • Current resume
  • Personal interview by invitation of faculty

    • Reflecting on the knowledge, skills, and qualities that will enable you to become an effective teacher leader in your school
  • Official transcripts from every college or university attended submitted directly from the institution with a minimum of 3.0 cumulative GPA. A bachelor's degree is required for full admission to a graduate program. You may be admitted conditionally pending receipt of your degree.
  • Three professional letters of recommendation from a principal, supervisor & colleague
  • Copies of most recent teacher evaluations for last two years (Teacher Leadership candidates only)
  • Current professional résumé
  • Personal interview by invitation of faculty

  • An undergraduate degree with a minimum GPA of 2.75. Applicants who have completed graduate level courses must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their graduate courses
  • Two professional or academic letters of recommendation
  • Current resume
  • Personal interview with a writing sample by invitation of the faculty
  • Minimum TOEFL score of 80 with a minimum score of 18 for each section or a minimum score of 6.5 on IELTS for international applicants
  • GRE or GMAT not required for admission
  • Candidates for the MS in Higher Education Assessment, Analytics and Change Management should meet the following requirements:
    • At least two years of professional experience in higher education or research/assessment experience in an organization
    • Completion of a statistics course with a grade of B or higher within six years of application
      Students who have not taken a statistics course will be required to fulfill one of the following:
      • Take PMBA 8051 Fundamentals of Statistical Analysis or a comparable course at an accredited institution prior to beginning program coursework, OR
      • Take the online proficiency exam to test out of PMBA 8051 with a grade of “B” or better
  • Rolling Admission: Recommended deadlines are August 1 (fall), December 1 (spring) and May 1 (summer)

  • Official Praxis Core Academic Skills test and Subject/Grade Level test score for the certification you are seeking
  • Official OPI score for World Language candidates and Official OPI and WPT scores for ESL/Bilingual candidates (contact Graduate Admission for registration procedures)
  • Current resume
  • Personal interview by invitation of faculty
  • Application deadline: June 1 is the recommended deadline for the full-time program. The part-time program uses rolling admission – recommended deadlines are August 1 (fall), December 1 (spring)

  • Official transcripts from each college or university attended
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing from an NLN-CCNE-accredited school
  • Two professional letters of recommendation (Preference for 1 academic and 1 professional/work history)
  • Resume and essay. Essay topic:
    • Describe an ethical dilemma you were confronted with during your nursing career. Discuss the strategies you used to resolve the dilemma. (1,000 words or less)
  • Active unencumbered RN license in good standing
  • Completion of BSN prerequisite courses:
    • Health Assessment or equivalent course/integrated curriculum competencies
    • Nursing or Health-Discipline Research
    • Statistics
    • Students must meet the "Technical Standards” (see Universal Technical Standards tab)
  • Meet one of the two requirements
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher (on a scale of 4.0) in the most recent nursing degree with a minimum, cumulative GPA in all nursing courses of a 3.0.
    • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 in at least two graduate nursing courses IF the most recent nursing degree GPA is less than or equal to 2.99. (Students can be admitted as conditionally admitted, and allowed to take 2 graduate nursing courses at Rider. Students should take APRN 5001 Socialization to the APRN Role and one of the following: APRN 5002, 5003, 5004, 5006)

International applicants and non-native English speakers

In addition to the above requirements, international transcripts may need to be evaluated by a NACES member organization.

Non-native English speakers and those who have completed their undergraduate degrees in a non-English speaking countries are required to submit Proof of English proficiency in the form of one of the following:

  • Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) 
    • Rider University’s TOEFL Code: 2758
    • Minimum Score: PBT 540, iBT 79
  • International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
    • Minimum Score: 6.5
    • PTE (Pearson Test of English academic)
    • Minimum Score: 53
  • International Test of English Proficiency (ITEP)
    • Minimum Score: 3.9
  • Trinity Integrated Skills in English II (ISE II)
    • Minimum Score: Pass
  • Duolingo
    • Minimum Score: 100
