Program overview

Learn new skills with Rider University’s Business Basics Certificate. Taught by the distinguished Norm Brodsky College of Business faculty, the certificates in Business will help prepare you for the challenges of today’s workplace. If you already hold an undergraduate degree in an area other than business and want to get ahead in your career, or are looking to prepare for graduate study of business, then our Business certificates will help you reach those goals.

This program is offered through Rider’s Continuing Education Program and is designed for adult learners aged 25 and over.

Certificate requirements

This 18-24 credit certificate is intended for students holding an undergraduate degree in an area other than Business and introduces the student to the fundamentals of business disciplines.

Note: If additional equivalent prior coursework has been completed, substitutes may be made using the courses from Business Plus. CIS-185 and MSD-105 may be waived based on prior equivalent coursework

Students who complete the Business Basics Certificate and would like to further hone their business skills and knowledge, enroll in the Business Plus Certificate. Completion of this certificate will help students prepare for the graduate study of business (e.g. MBA).

Admission requirements

Candidates for admission to the Business Basics Certificate Program must complete the Continuing Education application and provide supporting transcripts from all colleges attended. Minimum admissions requirements are a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution and a 2.5 GPA in all undergraduate work.
