Dr. Ciprian S. Borcea serves in the Program Committee of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications Conference on MATHEMATICS OF ROBOTICS, to be held at ST. ANNE'S COLLEGE, UNIVERSITY OF OXFORD, UK in September 9-11, 2015.

Dr. Ciprian Borcea will attend the 30th Annual Symposium on Computational Geometry (SoCG 2014) to be held in Kyoto, Japan (June 8-11, 2014) and lecture about his work with Dr. Ileana Streinu on "Liftings and stresses for planar periodic frameworks".
Dr. Anthony Bahri is an organizer of a satellite workshop of the International Congress of Mathematicians, Seoul 2014. The workshop (August 7-11, 2014) addresses the topic of "Topology of torus actions and applications to geometry and combinatorics". View the poster for more information.

In January, Prof. Anthony Bahri was an invited speaker at the international conference "Toric Topology 2014" in Osaka, Japan.
The Philosophical Transactions of the Royal Society, which has the prestige of being the worlds's first scientific journal, published in series A, Mathematical, Physical and Engineering Sciences, February 13, 2014; 372 (2008), a paper of Prof. Ciprian Borcea, Rider University and Prof. Ileana Streinu, Smith College, on "Frameworks with crystallographic symmetry".
On February 28, 2014, Dr. Lance Miller, University of Arkansas, a collaborator and guest of Department member Dr. Jason McCullough, gave a lecture on "How singular a curve can be?".
On March 13, Prof. Ciprian Borcea lectured on "Periodic pseudotriangulations", in the Algebraic Topology Seminar of Princeton University. The Seminar is organized by Prof. Willian Browder of Princeton University and Rider's own Prof. Anthony Bahri.
On April 4, a Scientific Symposium on "Mathematical models with applications in crystallography and protein structure", organzied by Prof. Ciprian Borcea at Rider University, attracted students and faculty to three lectures delivered by Prof. Ileana Streinu, Smith College, Prof. George Phillips, Rice University and Prof. Ciprian Borcea.
