Rider offers a variety of dynamic CCNE-accredited online nursing programs that allow practicing nurses to continue to care for their community while pursuing higher education. Each program is designed to fit your schedule and you will have the ability to complete your clinical hours in the timeframe that works best for you.

Degrees 

  • Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing 
  • Master of Science in Nursing
    •  Choose from three concentrations: adult-gerontology primary care, family nurse practitioner or psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner

3. Copy of current unrestricted RN license

Please submit the following to complete your application: 

1. Completed application of graduate study

2. Official transcripts from each university attended with a cumulative GPA of 3.0*

3. Bachelor's degree in nursing from an NLN-CCNE-accredited school

4. Active unencumbered RN license

5. Two professional letters of recommendation (preference for 1 academic and 1 professional/work history)

6. Résumé 

7. Essay in which you will describe an ethical dilemma you were confronted with during your nursing career and discuss the strategies you used to resolve the dilemma (1,000 words or less)

8. Completion of BSN prerequisite courses

*students with less than a 3.0 GPA are still encouraged to apply

2. Official transcripts from each university attended with a cumulative GPA of 3.0*

3. Master of Science in Nursing from an NLN-CCNE-accredited school

4. Active unencumbered RN license

5. All APRN licenses and national APRN certifications (if applicable)

6. Two professional letters of recommendation (preference for 1 academic and 1 professional/work history)

7. Résumé 

Prior to enrolling in a nursing program prospective students should review the state licensure requirements. Completion from a Rider University program does not necessarily guarantee eligibility for state licensure; or receipt of a license.

In the MSN program you can choose from: adult-gerontology primary care, family nurse practitioner and psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner. 

As an RN-BSN graduate you will continue your career as an RN with new professional skills and the ability to advance your career in leadership positions. You will also meet the degree requirements to sit for nurse specialty certification exams. 

Some careers for MSN and post-master’s certificate graduates include: nurse practitioner, nonclinical nursing roles in administration, education, government, public policy and research.

If you are interested in the Master of Science in Nursing program, please review the appropriate academic plan in the course catalog. 

If you are interested in a post-master's certification program, please request a transcript evaluation to determine the length of your study.

Rider offers a variety of scholarships and financial aid options.

Individuals employed by a university partner company or organization may be eligible for a 20% tuition reduction. 

As a graduate assistant students are offered tuition remission on 3-6 credits for semester.

No GRE/GMAT is required for the MSN or post-master’s programs.
