According to Adrienne, the RN-BSN program was well suited for a working RN who is also a mom. The flexible program allowed her to earn her degree. She said the courses offered had the most variety and the staff at Rider were easy to talk to and they answered all her questions. In addition, the staff at Rider were encouraging and supported her in her journey every step of the way. “Staff members congratulated me on the day of my graduation, which was very special because though most communication was done online, they still remembered me from our meetings in person (which happened once or twice) two years earlier,” she said.
My professors taught me the importance of being a good teacher and advocate.”
“I'm a huge advocate for patient rights, the rare disease community and the ethical principles of nursing. Rider's impact on my career is that I am constantly studying laws, policies, practices, ethics and the role of the nurse in all settings to be the best advocate for my patients, their families and the community,” she said. She continues to work with rare disease advocacy groups to try to bring change to rare disease healthcare policies, which was part of her capstone project. "To have Rider believe in my abilities, acknowledge my achievements and encourage me to aim for the stars is something I will never forget. My success at Rider would not have been possible without the professors and staff of the University.”
Adrienne has been employed on the Respiratory Unit of Morristown for almost two years now, and has been a close witness of the COVID-19 pandemic from day one. She is currently studying for her Progressive Care Certification and has started the process of pursuing her MSN with a concentration in clinical research.
