The President’s Unity and Belonging Award is presented each year to an employee and a student who foster a climate of respect and promote an ethos of inclusion and belonging, highlighting the Rider community’s commitment to these important values.
Congratulations Christopher Lux-Beteta!
Christopher Lux-Beteta embodies the spirit and intent of this award. As a graduating senior Chris has spent the last four years at Rider creating and fostering a climate of respect, unity and inclusion. Christopher has served as an EOP Peer Counselor, EOP Peer Leader, EOP Ambassador, and President of the EOP club; all positions that required him to engage, educate and empower current and prospective Rider students from various backgrounds.
Christopher has also served as President of the Social Work Club organizing events that impact marginalized communities, including a community service event that educated LatinX communities in the city of Trenton on their rights concerning ICE. He served as a student participant and peer mentor for the Multicultural Student Leadership Institute (MSLI)/All Broncs Belong. He is an active member and supporter of several clubs and organizations on campus and even has found time to work for Rider Athletics while being a member of the Club Volleyball team. Last, Chris is an academically exceptional student with a 3.7 cumulative GPA is also a standout RA/CA here on campus providing a safe space that is inclusive and supportive to his residents.
