Graduate programs in Liberal Arts and Sciences provide cutting edge theory and research combined with practical professional development experiences.  Each program has unique requirements and deadlines that are listed below.

Steps to Apply

  1. Complete the application for graduate study online or fill out a paper application.

  2. Submit a $50 non-refundable application fee. If you are applying online, you may pay via credit card. All checks should be made out to Rider University and should include the student’s name and phone number.

  3. Two professional letters of recommendation.

  4. Submit official transcripts from every college or university attended.

  5. Submit Evidence of English Language Proficiency
    Non-native English speakers must submit evidence of English language proficiency by providing results of the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), International English Language Testing System (IELTS) or PTE (Pearson Test of English academic).

  • This requirement may be waived for students attending International schools. For more information, e-mail [email protected].

  • Minimum Scores
    TOEFL iBT: 79 (scores that fall between 75 - 78 will require further review)
    TOEFL PBT: 540
    IELTS: 6.0
    PTE 53

  • Students with scores below the university's minimum requirements will be considered for conditional admission through Rider's English Language Institute.

Master of Arts in Applied Psychology or Master of Arts in Homeland Security

  • Current resume
  • Statement of aims and objectives
  • Personal interview by invitation of faculty

Master of Arts in Business Communication

  • Current resume
  • 500-1500 word statement of aims and objectives that indicates your reasons for pursuing graduate study in business communication
  • Personal interview by invitation of faculty
