Virtual Piano Camp - Solo Repertoire, Musicianship, Jazz Piano, and Art
Camp Directors: Megan Hofreiter and Suzanne Lehrer
Grades 3 – 7 (Campers will be divided into groups by age)
July 6 - 10
9:00 AM – 2:00 PM (3.5 hours of class time, with off-screen breaks and practice time in between)
Virtual Piano Camp for students entering grades 3-7 will be offered one week in July! Piano Camp is a great opportunity for young pianists to focus on their piano and musicianship skills while at the same time making new (online) friends!
Conservatory faculty will teach semi-private and small group lessons to piano campers. Students will have the pleasure of hearing each other’s solo repertoire and learning practice and performance techniques from one another during their daily semi-private lessons and performance classes. Siblings or camper/parent duets are welcome!
Along with semi-private lessons each day, campers will enjoy specialty classes in jazz piano, musicianship, and art. Time in between classes will allow the campers time to have a snack or lunch and take an outdoor break at home.
On the first day of camp, your child will be asked to perform for the group on Zoom, one polished solo piece that he or she has already been working on during this past year. Memorization is optional. Throughout the week, campers can continue work on current pieces, or teachers may select new music for the student to learn.
Each morning, we will begin the day as a large group on Zoom with the opportunity for campers to perform. On Thursday, there will be an online master class. We will put together an online final presentation to be shared as our end of the week recital.
Students must have completed at least 2 years of piano lessons and must be entering grades 3 through 7 in the fall of 2020.
Online – please make sure the student has access to Zoom.
*Maximum enrollment per week: 24
