Gain global perspective 
      
            
            As a student in Rider’s Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education or Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education program, you will have the opportunity to student teach abroad. For 8 weeks you will teach in a local school while collaborating with a cooperating teacher and earn three credits. This opportunity counts toward the student teaching capstone requirement.

        Students are placed in local schools that are closely related to their field of study.
 
            
            Graz, Austria
      
        The local schools that Rider student teachers will be teaching in are located in Graz, which is the second largest city in Austria.
 
            
            Turku, Finland
      
        Rider Student teachers would support and lead instruction for classes in English with a bilingual cooperating teacher.
 
            
            Stockholm, Sweden
      
        Engelska Skolan Novia uses both Swedish and English as the main languages for teaching and teaches according to the Swedish curriculum.

            How to apply 
      
            
            If interested, please contact your academic advisor and connect with the Office of International Education as early as possible to begin the planning process. You may apply during the spring semester of your junior year. Space is limited and admission is not guaranteed. If accepted, the study abroad opportunity will take place during the spring semester of your senior year.
