To protect the health and safety of our community and ensure continuity of instruction, all Summer I and Summer II courses are being offered through online, remote and alternative instruction. Courses that are labeled with section OL will be offered online. Courses that are labeled with section RAI will be offered through remote or alternative instruction.
What do we mean by remote or alternative instruction (RAI)?
Remote or alternative instruction (RAI) means something other than in-person classes. The method of instruction will vary by class and faculty. Essentially, instruction will be managed in a way that makes the most sense for the instructor, students and subject matter. Some faculty will utilize Canvas, others another form of online instruction. Still, other faculty may utilize email to provide assignments, reading, and other content and through which you will send completed work or assignments. In addition, synchronized class meetings may be required. Be sure to check your Rider email regularly for information related to the semester in general and specifically related to your classes from your dean and faculty.

Need additional support for remote and alternative instruction? Check out OIT’s remote access guide for students which covers everything from virtual meetings to how to request a laptop. Additional remote learning resources are available through the College of Continuing Studies (CCS).
