Program overview

Rider University’s 12-credit, online graduate certificate in cybersecurity will prepare students with the next-level skills to enter a cybersecurity career in any industry and maintain pace in this rapidly growing field. Students will examine the theory, best practices and methodologies needed to manage cyber risks, reinforce their technical knowledge and research ability, as well as gain exposure to the legal and ethical principles of cybersecurity.

Program requirements

Students can earn a 12-credit graduate certificate in only two semesters and can apply their coursework toward our online cybersecurity master’s degree program, if desired. Our interdisciplinary curriculum features a blend of technical, user experience (UX) and capstone courses that allow students to design a plan of study that aligns with their personal and professional goals.

Coursework has been developed based on the most recent Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) curriculum guidelines and ABET program accreditation criteria.

According to the Official Annual Cybersecurity Jobs Report, 3.5 million cyber jobs are unfilled globally. In New Jersey and the surrounding metro areas, there is an urgent workforce shortage projected for highly-trained cybersecurity professionals. Students who study cybersecurity in Rider’s Online Graduate Certificate program will develop the leading skills to successfully enter a variety of careers.
