University recognized in seven categories
by Tatiana Sciancalepore
For the fifth consecutive year, Rider University has been named one of the top colleges in the nation by Colleges of Distinction, a prominent guide for college-bound students.
In addition to being named to the national list, Rider was named a College of Distinction in New Jersey and recognized in five other categories: business; education; career development; equity and inclusion; and military support.
"At Rider, we strive to provide a transformative educational experience that empowers our students to thrive both academically and personally,” says Provost and Senior Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs Dr. DonnaJean A. Fredeen. "We are honored to be recognized once again."
Colleges of Distinction employs a rigorous selection process that involves extensive research and detailed interviews with the institutions. Only those that adhere to the organization’s four core distinctions—engaged students, great teaching, vibrant community and successful outcomes—are recognized.
"A college degree opens the door to many opportunities," says Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer at Colleges of Distinction. "But a truly worthwhile education prepares students to thrive once they walk through that door. Rider’s curriculum encourages meaningful student-faculty collaboration through experiential learning that is relevant and applicable to the real world."
Rider has a rich history of academic excellence and is regularly ranked highly by the most prestigious publications. In 2023, Rider rose in all of its rankings on U.S. News & World Report’s list of best regional universities in the north, including its ranking for ‘Best Value Schools.’ Additionally, the University was once again named to The Princeton Review’s Best Colleges list as one of the top 389 colleges and universities in the U.S.
