Rider University has partnered with Centre d’études Franco Americain de Management (CEFAM) of Lyon, France, and Sogeti, a 100-percent wholly owned subsidiary of Cap Gemini S.A and a leading provider of technology and software testing, to establish a two-year Master of Business Administration program that guarantees graduates a full-time job with Sogeti upon completion of the degree requirements.
The program, organized in successive stages over a 24-month period, provides students with an international business education and professional experience that is unmatched in Europe. The M.B.A. program allows students to spend their first two semesters in Lyon taking M.B.A. classes at CEFAM, followed by a five-month internship and professional development at Sogeti, in either Lyon or Paris.
In their second year, students continue their studies in Rider’s M.B.A. program. Upon completion of their M.B.A. coursework at CEFAM and Rider, students will have earned the CEFAM M.B.A. and Level 1 degree, recognized by the French government, the Rider M.B.A., and their guaranteed full-time placement with Sogeti. The new partnership augments and strengthens a longstanding existing relationship between Rider and CEFAM through which fourth-year students are able to receive dual undergraduate degrees from Rider and CEFAM.
“The program marks a major step forward for international business education in that it combines two schools on two different continents and integrates a corporate partner with global operations and global impact,” said Dr. Steven Lorenzet, dean of Rider’s College of Business Administration. “The ultimate beneficiaries will be the students, who will receive truly unique and innovative training that will include international, educational and practical experience.”
All courses at CEFAM are taught in English by professors with advanced degrees and extensive professional experience. CEFAM students arrive in the United States to complete their final year of study well prepared for the challenges that await them inside and outside the classroom.
“Sogeti France’s objective is to enhance the quality of communication with a business school that delivers an international curriculum, while at the same time innovating with an M.B.A. degree that corresponds to our professions in the field of consulting,” explained Philippe Rochet, vice president of Sogeti.
The CEFAM graduate program aligns itself with the most admired and respected traditions of executive business education worldwide. The M.B.A. offered in cooperation with Rider University and Sogeti is a complete and tailor-made educational program that combines time in the classroom with an internship, professional seminars, and study abroad. The resulting synergies enhance the total learning experience and hiring potential of each participant. CEFAM hopes to provide its students with an opportunity to better understand the job market through contact with Sogeti France.
