Dear Fellow Rider Alumni,
As your Alumni Board of Directors, we’re reaching out to share important updates about the future of Rider University. In response to ongoing financial challenges, President John R. Loyack and the Board of Trustees have initiated a strategic restructuring plan aimed at stabilizing the University’s finances while continuing to prioritize the quality of the student experience.
As you may have seen in President Loyack’s announcement this past Monday, following extensive and thoughtful analysis of the University’s financial situation, the Board of Trustees unanimously endorsed the March to Sustainability Plan proposed by President Loyack and the senior administration, and subsequently discussed with leadership of the faculty and staff unions and in a campus forum. The plan works to ensure that Rider will meet its payroll obligations in the 2025 fiscal year and begins resetting Rider’s financial model at last. You will find FAQs about the plan here. As painful as some of the steps being taken are, we understand they are to safeguard and provide hope for Rider University’s future.
As an alumni community, we have seen what we can do when we band together. In this moment of hope and change, we encourage you to join us in supporting Rider with contributions to a new initiative called the Presidential Hope Fund to provide immediate financial support to students whose education may be at risk due to sudden financial or family hardship. This fund underscores Rider’s commitment to helping every student complete their degree, regardless of temporary economic setbacks that could otherwise jeopardize all that achievement can mean to them. Your contribution will help all of us as alumni signal to today’s students our faith in them and in Rider’s future.
At this momentous time, we hope you will join us in supporting our alma mater and today’s Broncs as we create a reimagined Rider with a strong and vibrant future.
Sincerely,
Alumni Board of Directors
