University is a higher education partner for the NFL team
On Oct. 16, 10 Rider students volunteered at Special Olympics New Jersey during a sports clinic hosted by the New York Giants. The opportunity is part of the University’s on-going partnership with the NFL team.
The event brought Special Olympic athletes together for a day of fun activities, from pickleball to basketball to catching passes from former Giants center Shaun O’Hara.
Since 2023, Rider has been “An Official Higher Education Partner of the New York Giants.” The partnership personifies the University’s commitment to providing students with real-world learning experiences and impactful community service opportunities. Each year, Rider students serve as part-time, full-time and game-day interns with the Giants, participate in case study projects with the team’s leadership and volunteer at community service events.
Headquartered in Lawrenceville, New Jersey, Special Olympics New Jersey provides year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for more than 20,000 children and adults with intellectual disabilities.
