Rider University offers the Collaborative Pianist Program (formerly University Accompanist Program) for students taking credit-bearing voice lessons.
In the United States, regular vocal coaching for undergraduate students is a growing field, and a majority of students still do not receive regular or high-quality coaching. Founded in 2007, this program provides students access to a knowledgeable and experienced pianist to work weekly. It has become a key asset for vocal study at Rider University.
Collaborative Pianists
Coordinator: Akiko Hosaki
Collaborative Pianists: Michael Bond, Michael Gilch, Louis Goldberg, Julia Hanna, Nicholas Kaminski, Michael McAssey, Martin Néron, Jamie Olszak, Jonathan Rose, Jihye Park, Seth Trumbore
How it works:
Eligibility: Students registered for credit-bearing voice lessons.
Pianist Assignments: The program matches students with a pianist.
Accompanist Fee: Students will automatically be charged the accompanist fee when they register for applied voice lessons. If a student decides not to have a pianist, the opt-out form must be submitted within the designated time period at the beginning of every semester.
