Support available for our community
Dear Rider Community,
Last week, our nation learned of the assassination of Charlie Kirk while he was speaking on the campus of Utah Valley University. Our collective thoughts and prayers go out to Charlie Kirk’s family and friends in this time of deep mourning. Our Leadership Team has been monitoring the events and working together to support students in Rider’s chapter of Turning Point USA. While our immediate focus has been our Turning Point USA (TPUSA) members, we realize that others in our community have been deeply affected by this murder. Rider’s Counseling Center is here to support our community:

This tragic murder is a moment for Rider University to pause and reaffirm our values, especially that we celebrate our differences for they are our strength. As a community, we join our TPUSA students and their allies in decrying this act of violence.
Let me be clear — violence, fear and intimidation have no place at Rider University. We honor freedom of expression, and above all we embrace civility and care for one another.
With the upcoming gubernatorial debate, we are taking every precaution to ensure the safety of our campus and our community. That is why there has been a larger than normal law enforcement presence on campus as Rider Public Safety works with local and state police to ensure a successful event free of violence.
I value the work of Public Safety and local authorities, and I want to impress upon us all the need to say something if you see something. It is imperative that we all maintain vigilance and report our concerns to Rider Public Safety:
Available 24 hours, seven days a week
Public Safety (Non-Emergency)

Public Safety (Emergency)

We must have an ethos of reporting so that we can support the safety of our campus, and our Report and Support portal is there to report Bias, Harassment, Sexual Violence, Hazing, Student Conduct Issues or Concerns about a Student.
Together, we can ensure that Rider University continues to be a place of safety, support, collegiality and respect.
Sincerely,
John R. Loyack, CPA, MBA
