How first-generation student Nickolas Witkowski found his #HomeAtRider: “I chose Rider because I am very passionate about radio and broadcasting. I started doing radio my freshman year of high school, and I knew that’s what I wanted to do as a career from the get-go. When I came to a Rider open house, I immediately fell in love with the student-run radio station, 107.7 The Bronc. Being the first in my family to go to college, I knew that it was going to be a tough adjustment. But, because of all that Rider has to offer, from engaged learning to all the on-campus activities, I quickly learned that my possibilities were endless. My one piece of advice to incoming students is, if you want to make a positive impact on your future career path, then being a Bronc is the best decision you can make. Rider offers a multitude of opportunities for you to blossom and get out of your comfort zone, and it allows you to stand out amongst a crowd." Nickolas Witkowski is a junior majoring in communications and double minoring in radio and podcasting, and social media strategies. He is the assistant student general manager, operations director, co-production director and host of the IBS Media Award-nominated morning show “Wake Up Rider” for @1077thebronc. He is also vice president of @riderthetachi_, cord requirement chair and social media chair for @Riderodk, and a student worker at the Rider University Information Desk.
