Rider University Art Gallery presents photographs by John Suler.

The Rider University Art Gallery will present an exhibit of photographs by John Suler, entitled “Photographic Psychology: Forces That Shape the Psyche” Thursday, September 13 through Sunday, October 14, 2012.
An opening reception is scheduled for Thursday, September 13 from 5 to 7 p.m. Gallery Director Harry I. Naar will lead an artist’s talk on Thursday, September 20 at 7 p.m. Admission is free.
This photography and psychology exhibition presents images of how people respond, create, share and react to images that portray ideas about human psychology. The images in the exhibit explore the psychological discovery that each image offers to the viewer. John Suler is a writer, photographer and professor of psychology at Rider University. He is internationally recognized as an expert in emerging fields of psychology, especially the roles of visual images in dreams, meditation, creativity and emotions. As a founder of the new field of cyberpsychology, he was the first psychologist to engage in an intensive ethnographic study of how people use visual images to express their identities and interact socially.
The Rider University Art Gallery is located in the Bart Luedeke Center on Rider’s campus at 2083 Lawrenceville Rd in Lawrenceville. The gallery is open Tuesday through Thursday 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday noon to 4 p.m. It will be closed the week of Thanksgiving.
