The Asian American Student Association is dedicated to represent, promote and strengthen the awareness of Asian cultures to the Rider community. As proud individuals, we are committed to promote and educate our peers at this institution. The club is open to all members of Rider University in which all backgrounds and nationalities are welcome.
BHA is a group created for the promotion and celebration of cultural diversity and expression. Its mission is to increase awareness of the various cultures and to celebrate the beauty of diversity and inclusion within the community.
A cohesive group of black males and supporters of different backgrounds on campus, who banded together to create a safer environment where they have the opportunity to express their views and share their stories. They focus on empowerment and its pillars of leadership, social justice, collaboration, and service. Furthermore, this organization invests in its members through roundtable discussions, workshops, community service and inclusive events.
The purpose of the Black Student Union is to stimulate the intellectual, political, cultural and social growth of Rider University students through enriching programs and community service in hopes to educate its members and the Rider community in order to bring awareness, spark action, and ignite change that will benefit the African-American and multicultural student body.
The goal of the Chinese Club is to engage students in the Chinese culture and language through various events and discussions. With these interactions, students have the opportunity to meet new students and feel comfortable in learning from one another through various teaching methods. Students from all backgrounds are welcome.
Haitian Student Association (HSA) is an organization that encourages students to gain more knowledge about Haitian culture, current events, etc. We strive to create a community for Haitian/Haitian American students on campus where it reminds them of home and empowers them to stand strong with their heads held high. While simultaneously showcasing the culture that we grew up on and are proud of.
The Indian Student Association is interested in furthering Indian culture and creating greater awareness of the Indian heritage among the Rider community. We represent the cultural diversity of Indians present on our campus and we assist students from similar backgrounds to foster networking and friendships. Students, faculty, and staff are welcome to participate and learn more about India and its diverse traditions.
Through media, JPCS explores life in classic and contemporary Japan. They explore Japanese culture, music, philosophy, sociology, cinema, fine art, dance, food, advertisements, technology, literature, and anime (Japanese cartoons). JSPC regards themselves as "more than JUST an anime club." Through media, JPCS explores life in classic and contemporary Japan.
The Latin American Student Organization is a student organization which provides social and cultural educational and professional activities; approaching areas of activism, advocacy, diversity, race relations, community service, leadership and history for the Chicanx/Hispanic/Latinx students. LASO is continuous in providing quality meetings, projects and events to enhance the university experience. It strives to cultivate a sense of identity, community, and unity through campus outreach, greater-community involvement, and numerous activities. It is LASO’s hope to foster understanding by sharing the culture and experience of people of Latin American descent at Rider University and beyond.
The purpose of Rider African Student Association is to expose the Rider University community, products of and or interested in the culture and history of people that make up the African Diaspora and to provide a social outlet for discussion and enrichment of the African experience. RASA is responsible for sponsoring a yearly event that promotes the growth of the African nation as a whole by providing assistance towards increased vitality to at least one African Country and or region. Anyone who is interested in learning about the African culture is welcomed to join RASA. You do not need to be African to learn about the African culture.
The purpose of ROCAS is to educate its members along with the Rider community on Caribbean culture, history, and issues both past and present. ROCAS aims to be a resource and outlet for both Caribbean students and those wanting to learn more about the Caribbean. ROCAS is open to the entire Rider University community. All students enrolled in the institution are eligible to be both on the general board and executive committee of ROCAS. The Rider Community is encouraged to attend both the meetings and events hosted by ROCAS.
The Rider University Ukrainian Club (RUUC) is a student organization with the purpose to spread awareness about Ukraine, to educate the Rider community about Ukrainian culture and traditions and share experiences about being Ukrainian/Ukrainian American, as well as represent Ukrainian/Ukrainian American students on campus. We are dedicated to providing a learning environment welcoming to all who are interested in learning about Ukraine through cultural, educational, and social programs, events, and activities.
A club especially for Hispanic / Latinx / Chicanx womxn to feel welcomed at Rider and embraced by all of the uniqueness of being a womxn from Hispanic / Latinx / Chicanx backgrounds. We discuss the various challenges that womxn face within our communities, and how we may overcome them together. We talk about our strengths and how we may use them to overcome said difficulties. We want a legacy of Hispanic / Latinx / Chicanx womxn who feel empowered at Rider University and who will be able to find a new family through a sense of belonging and connection.
Rider Women United formed with the intentions of educating and involving the Rider community in issues dealing with women. The Rider Women United club attempts to heighten awareness of all gender issues to promote change and activism within the Rider community. By doing various activities where students are given opportunities to interact with one another, Rider United Women hopes to show the Rider community that issues concerning women do not exclude men and that both genders are an integral part in making the organization one that educates all.
SPECTRUM Pride Alliance is the LGBTQIA+ organization on Rider's campus. SPECTRUM is a safe space for members of the community, as well as discussing different aspects of the community. They encourage people, who are not a part of the community, to come to meetings and learn more about different aspects of the LGBTQIA+ community.
Catholic Campus Ministry is a chance for all students to learn about the Catholic faith. CCM hosts weekly meetings to discuss where faith meets college life, sponsors several on-campus masses throughout the semester, and provides students with service opportunities on and off campus. “Greater Within” is a nondenominational Christian motivational ministry organization that provides support, mentorship, and words of encouragement to all students. We hold meetings once a week where we host fun activities, stress relief exercises, and present encouraging speeches to help students get through hard times, establish good personal qualities, and to help them reach their goals while also learning about God.
Hillel is a student-run Jewish organization on Rider University's campus. We plan three to four events a month for Jewish or non-Jewish students to attend. These events range from a religious, cultural, social, and social action. Our goal is to foster an environment that students can come to continue living their Jewish lives or to learn more about a new culture.
MSA aims to distinguish the media perception of Islam from what it truly is, and through a series of discussions, meetings, collaborations and celebrations, educate students and the broader Rider community, in order to dispel common misconceptions.
InterVarsity at Rider University is a chapter of InterVarsity USA, an interdenominational Christian fellowship on college campuses around the world. Our vision is to see students and faculty transformed, our campus renewed, and world changes developed. In response to God's love, grace, and truth: The purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship/USA is to "establish and advance at colleges and universities witnessing communities of students and faculty, who follow Jesus as Savior and Lord: growing in love for God, God's Word, God's people of every ethnicity and culture, and God's purposes in the world."
Unashamed Voices Gospel Choir is a choir on Rider University’s campus founded in 2010 with a simple desire to draw God’s people in with a commitment to Christ, through the realm of music. Since its founding, God has drawn many of his people closer to him, uplifted the hearts of distressed students, and has been a safe haven on a sometimes-grueling university campus. In addition, many have increased in their learning of essential singing techniques and understanding gospel music at its core. Our organization's main objective is that we stand on the firm foundation of Philippians 1:20, “…I will in no way be ashamed, but will have sufficient courage so that now as always Christ will be exalted in my body, whether by life or by death.”
The mission of ADAPT is to create an environment where both abled and disabled people can come together to learn about being disabled and the issues we face, so that we can all become advocates and be empowered to make a positive change for the disabled community.
Active Minds empowers students to change the perception about mental health on college campuses. Active Minds is the leading nonprofit organization that empowers students to speak openly about mental health in order to educate others and encourage help-seeking. We are changing the culture on campuses and in the community by providing information, leadership opportunities, and advocacy training to the next generation.
Our mission is to expand this subject to the students of Rider University. Our purpose is to show the students of Rider University that this organization is an important skill that should be provided to students to have as a second or third language. Our goal is to expand the history and Language of the Deaf Culture to the general population. The overall goal for an ASL Club is to allow students to be able to communicate with the Deaf community when the opportunity is being presented to them.
Global Outlooks Club is an organization for all Rider students to learn about different cultures. We are an organization which aims to help International exchange students feel welcomed at Rider University. We hope to give our exchange students an understanding of the American culture, whilst also connecting these students with others within the Rider Community. We aim to be a safe, yet fun organization for those studying here at Rider, or for any who wish to learn more about other cultures.
On Fire!! is a literary journal devoted to capturing new creative works, as well as historically enriched works of the African Diaspora. In addition, we dedicate ourselves to the Rider student body by uniting creatives together to learn, share, and develop their craft, and promote their art. Through both our written works and performances, we engage our members and community in a fulfilling conversation about culture, art, and human experiences.
The purpose of this organization is to promote camaraderie, professionalism, and education among its members; specifically tailored to veterans, military, and military dependents. RUVA strives to support veterans and the military family as they transition to college life and promote lifestyle management principles that contribute to success toward their academic, community, spiritual, and emotional needs. The transition from the structure of military service to the new rigors of college life requires determination, dedication, perseverance, as well as friendly, familiar support from those with similar interests, backgrounds, and experiences. RUVA is a unified body of diverse individuals who are able to communicate and share experiences as needed to provide a foundation of support.
