Rider University is one of the most environmentally responsible colleges in the United States and Canada, according to The Princeton Review. The renowned education services company selected Rider for inclusion in the newly released, third annual edition of its free downloadable book,"The Princeton Review’s Guide to 322 Green Colleges: 2012 Edition," which was released on April 17.

Not only do Dream Machine recycling kiosks improve on-the-go recycling, but the more cans and bottles that are recycled in a Dream Machine, the more PepsiCo will donate to support career training, education and job creation for post-9/11 U.S. veterans with disabilities. The Rider team’s portrayal of Iran earned the University its fourth straight Outstanding Delegation award at the 2012 National Model United Nations Conference in New York.

Legendary Broadway performer Ben Vereen will visit Rider University’s Lawrenceville campus as part of a music theater and performing arts master class on Thursday, April 19.

Dr. Maureen Maguire ’75, a top ophthalmologist at the University of Pennsylvania, and Dr. Aaron Gast, trustee emeritus at the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation, will receive honorary degrees at Rider’s 147th Commencement ceremonies. Dr. Morten Lauridsen, Distinguished Professor of Composition at the University of Southern California’s Thornton School of Music, will be similarly honored at the Westminster Choir College ceremony.

Fresh off an NEC Championship, Rider’s field hockey program also captured first prize in Rider’s second annual Raise Your Game Athletics Fundraising Challenge, sponsored by the Department of Athletics.
