Dr. David Dewberry, assistant professor of Communication, was named a recipient of the Franklyn S. Haiman Award for Distinguished Scholarship in Freedom of Expression by the National Communication Association.

New Jersey Army National Guard Sgt. Jonathan Bowker ’15 was among 10 recipients of the second annual New Jersey Heroes Heart of a Hero Scholarship.

The agreement guarantees admission to Rider for students who complete their degrees at Bucks County Community College across a wide range of academic majors.

Rider was named by Victory Media, Inc., as a 2014 Military Friendly School, recognizing best practices among institutions in the recruitment and retention of military students.

Rider’s political institute will also host such political notables as Democratic gubernatorial candidate Barbara Buono, top Republican strategist Steve Schmidt and U.S. Rep. Leonard Lance this fall.
