Rider proudly bestowed the honorary Doctor of Humane Letter upon Aaron Gast, Ph.D., trustee emeritus of the Charlotte W. Newcombe Foundation, at the University’s graduate and College of Continuing Studies ceremony on Thursday, May 10. President Mordechai Rozanski conferred 410 degrees to students who had successfully completed their studies.

A Political Science and Global Multinational Studies dual major, Angelique Olmo ’12 already had vital international experience the day she set foot on Rider’s Lawrenceville campus.

President Mordechai Rozanski delivered his annual Town Hall address on April 26, championing the value of a Rider education, as witnessed by student achievement and engagement, continual academic innovation, and the institution’s solid commitment to affordability. Overall, he reported that Rider was doing well.

A total of 1,347 bachelor’s, master’s and associate degrees will be conferred upon students in Lawrenceville and Princeton. The University will also present three honorary doctorates, one at each ceremony.

Basking Ridge, N.J., resident Heather Shankman ’12, who will present this year’s student address at Rider’s Undergraduate Commencement on May 11, did not let a serious heart ailment keep her from her goals.

A triple major, Pakistan native Madiha Latif ’12 took full advantage of the opportunities afforded to her at Rider, twice leading the Model U.N. team to Outstanding Delegation awards as its head delegate.
