University now accepting postgraduate FRSM diploma certificates for transfer credits
Westminster Choir College of Rider University has partnered with the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM) to accept postgraduate FRSM (Fellowship of the Royal Schools of Music) diploma certificates in music performance, music education and music directing. FRSM diplomas are the highest certification by ABRSM, an international awarding organization accredited by the UK government and the International Educational Research Foundation.
Students can transfer up to six credits toward any of Westminster’s master’s degree programs — including the online Master of Voice Pedagogy, Master of Music Education, Master of Choral Pedagogy and Master of Sacred Music. Additionally, the University accepts ABRSM’s Grade 8 exams for general elective credit for undergraduate non-music majors.
“Through this new partnership, exceptionally qualified musicians can accelerate their studies at Westminster,” says Dr. Jason Vodicka ’03, ’09, senior associate dean, College of Arts and Sciences. “It’s an exciting opportunity to expand Westminster’s influence internationally and welcome incredibly talented students from around the globe.”
