Rider University is pleased to welcome Moe Rahman as its new chief information officer to lead the University’s Office of Information Technologies (OIT). In this role, he will work to strategically align the University’s technology needs with academic and administrative priorities, and create a strategic vision for information technology at Rider.
Rahman brings nearly two decades of information technology experience with eight years in leadership roles at higher education institutions. Since 2013, he has worked for Ellucian, the world’s leading provider of software and services designed for higher education. Rider has partnered with Ellucian for a number of years and brought the management of its OIT services under Ellucian fully in 2022.
"I am excited to be part of Rider, a prestigious institution with a storied past and exciting future,” says Rahman. “I look forward to working with all constituents to help align information technology services to meet Rider's current and future needs. I am inspired by Rider's past and motivated by all the possibilities we have in front of us, and looking forward to being part of Rider's legacy.”

Through Ellucian, Rahman has worked as the executive director for managed services at Yeshiva University and, most recently, as the director of enterprise systems and managed services at Brookdale Community College. At both institutions, Rahman provided guidance to college leadership and their entire communities, and developed multi-year tactical and technical plans as well as policies and procedures in alignment with industry best practices. Collaboration is at the heart of his approach to information technology. Rahman is experienced at working with all levels of a collegiate community to identify pain points and collaboratively identify solutions.
“Because of his extensive work in higher education and with Ellucian, Moe is the perfect fit for Rider,” says Jim Hartman, senior vice president for finance and chief financial officer. “I am confident that he can help us work together to enhance our information technology capabilities.”
Rahman earned his bachelor’s in computer science from Kean University and his master’s in computer science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology. He holds a number of professional certifications and has completed a number of training courses to ensure he is up-to-date on the latest developments in the field. Notably, he completed Ellucian’s CIO Development Program, which strives to cultivate up-and-coming IT executives. Rahman has also served as an adjunct computer science professor at Kean University.
