Membership strengthens Rider’s institutional network and access to collaborative resources
Rider University has joined the Council of Independent Colleges (CIC), a national association of nonprofit colleges and universities committed to advancing institutional excellence and supporting higher education leadership.
Through this membership, Rider will participate in the CIC Tuition Exchange Program (CIC–TEP), a network of nearly 420 colleges and universities that allows full-time employees, as well as their spouses and dependents, to attend participating institutions tuition-free.
“This is an exciting step forward for Rider and our community,” says President John R. Loyack, CPA, MPA. “Joining CIC not only connects us with a respected national network of peer institutions, but also expands opportunities for our faculty and staff by providing meaningful educational benefits for their families.”
Each participating college or university agrees to accept students from other institutions in the network, creating a broad range of academic options across 47 states and several countries. The program also expands access to undergraduate and graduate programs in fields ranging from the arts and humanities to business, health professions and technology.
Founded in 1956, the Council of Independent Colleges supports college and university leaders through conferences, professional development programs and resources that strengthen academic quality, institutional performance and student success. Membership is open to private, nonprofit institutions that demonstrate a commitment to the liberal arts and the broader mission of independent higher education.
