Games are both Code Cranberry for varsity athletes and part of Breast Cancer Awareness
by Rider Sports with Dave Pavlak
A trifecta of events takes place tonight in Alumni Gym as the men’s and women’s basketball team compete in a doubleheader to be broadcast on ESPN3. The women's basketball game against Iona will begin at 6 p.m. and the Rider men host Marist at 8:30 p.m.
In addition to the games being streamed online, tonight’s game is a part of Code Cranberry, an initiative designed to express a unified show of support among varsity athletes at Rider.
Furthermore, Rider University and its fans will be celebrating Pink Day as a part of Breast Cancer Awareness. Coaches and players will don pink gear in support of cancer research awareness.
Anyone wearing pink to the games can get a $2 discount on a general admission ticket. Additionally, players in both games will have pink laces in their shoes and pink mini-balls will be on sale with all proceeds going to charity.
