The Westminster Choir received rave reviews as the Chorus in Residence at the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, S.C.
The Westminster Choir once again served as the Chorus in Residence at the Spoleto Festival USA in Charleston, S.C. Conducted by Joe Miller, this year the Choir presenedt a concert entitled “Requiem” at the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist. The program featured Herbert Howells’ moving Requiem, as well as Tarik O’Regan’s The Ecstasies Above.
The Choir and Joe Miller presented concerts at the Cathedral Church of St. Luke and St. Paul. This inspirational and idyllic venue provided the perfect setting for the pristine voices of the Festival’s choir-in-residence, widely praised for the purity and beauty of their sound. The program featured varied repertoire, ranging from Rachmaninoff to contemporary compositions by Latvian composer Eriks Ešenvalds.
The ensemble also served as the opera chorus for the Festival’s production of Kepler by Philip Glass.
