Whether you enjoy a few laughs during a comedy show or a trip to the ski slopes, the Office of Campus Life and Recreation Programs promises fun-filled activities during Winter Weekend 2011, from January 26 through 30.
“The Winter Weekend is built around the first weekend back for students. We look for ways to help students reconnect with the campus and interact with each other after the long break,” explained Nicholas Barbati, coordinator of Campus Activities.
The weekend’s activities get a bit of a head start when comedian Ralphie May takes the stage at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, January 26, in the Bart Luedeke Center Cavalla Room. Admission is free for Rider students with student ID. May, who made his debut on season one of Last Comic Standing, was voted one of Variety’s “10 Comics to Watch” in 2008. He next appears opposite Neil Patrick Harris and Amy Sedaris in the feature film, The Best and the Brightest.
“He’s quite popular on college campuses all over America and gets glowing reviews,” Barbati said.
Westminster campus students are encouraged to use the inter-campus shuttle and join in the fun.
