Tickets are now on sale for the 2013 Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference Baseball Championship Tournament, from May 23 to 26, at Mercer County’s Arm & Hammer Park, on Rt. 29 South in Trenton, with the regular-season MAAC champion Rider baseball team entering play as the tournament’s No. 1 seed.
Tickets for adults are $30 for an all-session tournament pass (seven games) or $15 per day which gets you both games each day. Students and children are $15 for an all-session pass or $5 per day.
The entire tournament, including Rider’s (34-20, 18-6 MAAC) opening game Thursday night at 7 p.m. against fourth-seeded Siena College (25-28 15-9 MAAC), will be broadcast on a pay-per-view basis (audio and video) on MAAC.TV.
The free audio-only broadcast of all Rider games Thursday through Sunday will be broadcast on 107.7FM The Bronc, 1077thebronc.com, and will be available via links at GoBroncs.com.
The opening game on Thursday will feature No. 2 seed Marist College (27-22-1, 17-7 MAAC) against third-seeded Canisius College (39-15, 15-9 MAAC) at 3 p.m.
The four-team, double-elimination tournament will crown the MAAC champion and advance the winner to one of 16 four-team Regionals in the 64-team NCAA Championship Tournament.
In 2010, Rider, the third seed, won the MAAC Tournament in Fishkill, N.Y., and advanced to the NCAA Regional at Texas.
In 2008, the fourth-seeded Broncs hosted and won the MAAC tournament at what was then called Mercer County Waterfront Park in Trenton and advanced to the nationally televised NCAA Regional hosted by Cal-State Fullerton.
