The diversity of Rider’s people and cultures truly enriches our University community, and to that end, Rider is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month in November. The opening ceremony, held on Thursday, October 27, at 7 p.m. in the Mercer Room of Daly Dining Hall, carries the month-long theme of Step Into Our Heritage. Food from various Latino cultures will be served.
An interactive and fun-filled session entitled The Body is Beautiful, which aims tackle the media’s portrayal of beauty and its impact on self-image and self-esteem, will be held on Tuesday, November 1, at 8 p.m. in the BLC Fireside Lounge.
Gather with us as we celebrate Dias de Los Muertos, or The Day of the Dead, Halloween, Latino Style, on Wednesday, November 2, at 7 p.m. in the Mercer Room of Daly Dining Hall.
And join us for a high-energy Zumbathon and Zumba Concert on Thursday, November 3, at 8 p.m. in the SRC. Learn how to Zumba or simply enjoy some great music. Prizes will be awarded to the Zumbathon winners.
Explore more dance and music at The Way They Move, on Tuesday, November 8, at 7 p.m. in the BLC Fireside Lounge. Cosponsored by the Black Student Union, Afro-Caribbean and Afro-Latino cultures come together to celebrate the history of dance and music.
The month-long celebration concludes with How Latino Are You?, a Latino game show that explores the knowledge Latinos have of their roots. How Latino Are You? will be held in the SRC Seminar Room on Tuesday, November 15, at 7 p.m. Prizes will be awarded to the winners.
