Each May, as another academic year draws to a close and another class of Rider students crosses the threshold of Commencement into the ranks of alumni, the University also makes it a point to honor the administrators, faculty and staff members who have kept the institution moving smoothly through these annual cycles.
Members of the Rider and Westminster Choir College communities who have devoted 20 or more years of service were fêted by the University on Wednesday, May 5, at the annual Longtimers Reception, hosted by President Mordechai Rozanski and his wife, Bonnie Rozanski, in their backyard. Honorees who celebrated milestone years ending in “5” or “0” years also received special recognition and gifts of esteem.
“Our honorees have given a combined 1,205 years of service to Rider, contributing their talent and dedication to our University” President Rozanski said to the gathered Longtimers and their guests. “This is just a small way that we can recognize their contributions.”
Heading the way among Longtimers were Dr. John Hillje, associate professor of History, and Dr. William David Guthrie, professor of Teacher Education, who were honored for 45 years of service to the Lawrenceville campus this year.
