Before the men’s basketball team headed south for this week’s Hoops for Hope Classic, the Broncs lent a hand to spread some Thanksgiving cheer with the less fortunate in the local area. Eleven players and five coaches delivered turkeys and served lunch at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen on November 15.
“Serving a meal at the Trenton Area Soup Kitchen was very beneficial for our whole team,” said head coach Kevin Baggett. “It was an opportunity to help those in our community who are less fortunate and give our guys a chance to see how fortunate they really are at this point in their lives.”
Guard Tommy Pereira ’14, was one of the players who volunteered.
“Volunteering at the soup kitchen just makes me realize how privileged I am and not to take anything for granted in life,” Pereira explained.
