Regina Egea played a key role at pivotal moments during the administration

On Tuesday, Sept. 25, The Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics at Rider University will host “An Evening with Regina Egea,” where Egea, Gov. Christie’s former chief of staff, will share experiences from the key role she played at pivotal moments during the Christie administration.
Egea is one of the only New Jersey women to ever hold the office of chief of staff in New Jersey state government. Now the president of the Garden State Initiative, Egea will also discuss her mission to strengthen the state’s economy, control the cost of government in the state and enact essential tax reforms. The independent Garden State Initiative is a free-market research and educational organization provides policy analysis with the goal of making New Jersey economically strong.
“Regina Egea played a critical role in the Christie administration and continues to bring an informed and influential perspective to state affairs,” says Micah Rasmussen, the director of the Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics at Rider University.
Egea first joined the Christie administration as the State treasurer’s chief of staff, where she contributed to pension reforms enacted in 2011. She then served as the director of authorities unit before becoming the governor's chief of staff. In addition to her time in Trenton, her public service includes being elected her hometown board of education and township committee, including serving as deputy mayor in 2010.
Egea's background includes the private sector, as well. She worked for AT&T for 30 years in product management, network operations, human resources, and sales and marketing.
The Rebovich Institute for New Jersey Politics is dedicated to public service and scholarly analysis of government, public policy, campaigns and elections in New Jersey. Founded in 2001 by the late Professor David Rebovich (1949–2007), the Institute is a dynamic and creative home where students can network, study and gain practical experience in New Jersey politics.
Other Rebovich events planned for the fall at Rider include appearances by state Attorney General Gurbir Grewal on Oct. 29 and Dr. Jeff Van Drew, a candidate for New Jersey's Second Congressional District, on Nov. 15.
“An Evening with Regina Egea,” which is free and open to the campus community and the public, takes place in the Mercer Room on Rider’s Lawrenceville campus.
