Rider's online Master of Accountancy among top 40 for accelerated degrees
by Rachel Stengel '14
Rider's online Master of Accountancy (MAcc) program received its third national ranking this year; the program earned the No. 24 spot on Accounting Degree Review's list of the Top 40 Best Accelerated Online Master’s in Accounting Degrees.
"We are pleased and humbled to receive yet another accolade for our Master of Accountancy program," says Dr. Margaret O'Reilly-Allen, chair of the accounting department. "We're incredibly proud that our program affords students the ability to finish their degree at an accelerated pace without sacrificing the in-depth learning and training they need to succeed as professionals."
Rider's online MAcc program can be completed in just 16 months. Students have the option to enter the program as a cohort each fall, following a prescribed course sequence to earn their degree at an accelerated pace. It is designed to prepare students for the CPA exam, helping further their careers in accounting. The MAcc program is housed within the College of Business Administration (CBA), which holds dual AACSB accreditation in both accounting and business. Only two percent of schools worldwide hold dual accreditation.
Programs were ranked based on three equally weighted factors: school reputation, affordability and success expectation based upon earning potential. According to Accounting Degree Review, the rankings are established to help lead students to the colleges and universities that have proven to be affordable, reputable and reliable. It only ranks accredited institutions with a documented track record of students securing well-paid jobs.
