Christina Diecidue '16, Shaun Bartole '16 and Jessica Stanislawczyk '16 honored for their academic and extracurricular achievements
Two Rider University undergraduates from the Lawrenceville campus, Christina Diecidue '16 and Shaun Bartole '16, received the President’s Award on April 30, 2016, during a ceremony in the Bart Luedeke Center. A third student, Jessica Stanislawczyk '16, received her award during Westminster Choir College's Spring Convocation on April 21 in Bristol Chapel. All three students have amassed impressive records of service to the University and outstanding academic and extracurricular achievement.
Recipient Christina Diecidue, a marketing and advertising major and web design major, has been very active in the campus community since her freshman year. She served as the freshman class public relations chair, sophomore class vice president, junior class president and senior class president. For the past three years, she has been a member of both the Leadership Development Program and the Alpha Psi Omega National Theater Honor Society.
Over four years, Diecidue has earned a cumulative 3.9 GPA. Her goal upon graduating is to begin working for an advertising agency in New York City.
“As a result of her leadership and academic excellence, Christina boasts a long and distinguished list of awards and honors,” said President Gregory G. Dell’Omo in presenting her with the award. “It is certainly impressive, and she is most deserving of all the accolades she has received.”
Shaun Bartole, who is majoring in accounting and information systems and has earned a GPA of 3.34, was also an award recipient. His long list of activities include serving as Chief Financial Officer of the Student Government Association, chairing the Finance Board and serving as vice president of finance for the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. He participated as a part of Rider’s strategic planning committee and volunteered his time for the Special Olympics Bowling Program, the Joyce Kilmer Middle School Mentor Program and Habitat for Humanity.
“Shaun’s resume is filled with awards, honors, activities, community service, and business experience — far more than one would expect from a young man who hasn’t even graduated yet,” Dell’Omo said. “We can all learn something from your leadership, and I am proud to award you with this year’s President’s Award.”
As an undergraduate, Bartole interned at Deloitte & Touche and WithumSmith+Brown. Upon graduation, he plans to take the CPA exam within the next year. He will also begin a full-time job at Deloitte as a Technology Risk Consultant.
The third recipient of the award, voice performance major Jessica Stanislawczyk, received her accolades at the Westminster Choir College ceremony. Among her impressive achievements are a 3.98 grade point average, participation in Rider’s baccalaureate honors program and seven-time membership on the Dean’s List. A three-year Andrew J. Rider scholar, Stanislawczyk has been named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges and has received numerous awards, including Rider’s Undergraduate Research Scholar Award. Jessica is a member of the Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honors Society, Sigma Alpha Iota Music Fraternity and Service Committee Alpha Lambda Delta Honors Society.
Her service to the University has been equally impressive. Jessica has been an active member of the Student Government Association from the start; first as a senator representative, later as the campus outreach chair, and now as vice president.
The President’s Award is presented annually to outstanding students selected by a committee of faculty, students and administrators. Awardees exemplify academic performance, extracurricular achievement and service to the University.
The award is presented annually to one male and one female senior from the Lawrenceville campus and one from the Westminster campus; the award is made possible by a gift from the Class of 1974. Other gifts over the years have augmented this, allowing the award to be sustained in perpetuity. In addition to an inscribed gift, recipients' names are placed on a permanent plaque displayed in the Student Center.
