Participation in sustainability programs helped the University earn award
Rider University received a Silver Level Student Actions Award for the 2015 spring semester Purposeful Networks, formerly known as myActions.
The award honors undergraduate schools for demonstrated student leadership, momentum and engagement in activities that positively impact their communities and the planet. Rider’s participation in Recyclemania played a role in helping it earn the award. Recyclemania is an eight-week competition in which Rider is pitted against other colleges and universities in the country to see who has the biggest effect on their campuses in enacting recycling change.
The Student Actions Awards celebrate the impact and energy of students working to build community and inspire action for groups, causes and events. The awards are based on a methodology that celebrates progress, momentum, and impact for the most recent semester. Recognition is awarded on four different levels: Green Level, Silver Level, Gold Level, and Platinum Level.
Rider was one of 125 schools that were recognized. For more on Rider's sustainability efforts, contact Sustainability Manager Melissa Greenberg at [email protected] or visit the sustainability website.
