Rider Ice Hockey Team Will Get "Pink in the Rink"

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and once again the Rider ice hockey team will participate in a “Pink in the Rink” event during their game this Saturday, October 26 at 8:30 p.m.

During the month of October, the ice hockey team has worn pink jerseys as a means of raising awareness of a disease that impacts one in every eight women. On Saturday, the team will raffle their jerseys through a silent auction and present the winning bidders with the jerseys in a ceremonial handoff, as a symbol of empowering others to help spread breast cancer awareness.

A 50/50 raffle will also be conducted at the game. All proceeds from the raffle and jersey auction will go to the American Cancer Society in the name of the Rider University ice hockey team.

All students, faculty and staff are invited to support the team and this great event. The game will be held at the Loucks Ice Center on the Lawrenceville School campus, just a short distance from the university. A free shuttle service will leave from the Bart Luedeke Center every 15 minutes beginning at 8 p.m. and will return to campus following the game.

Attendees are asked to wear pink in support of this important cause.
