The drive will take place Dec. 4-5
One out of every three people will need a blood donation at some point in their lives. The Rider community now has the opportunity to help those in need by taking part in a blood drive that has extensive student support. The Blood Drive will be hosted by the Student Blood Council (SBC) and Alpha Phi Omega. The Hillel Organization will also be hosting a bone marrow registry for those who would like to sign up. The blood drive will be held in the Student Recreation Center (SRC) Seminar Room on Wednesday, Dec. 4, and Thursday, Dec. 5, from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m.
This campus-wide event invites all students, faculty, staff and alumni to donate, as well as any members of the local community (over the age of 17) to participate. Those who have never given blood before are encouraged to consider attending for the first time.
Angelina Caravello, Rider University Student Blood Council president, explains why this particular blood drive is so important. “In this season of giving, this is the perfect opportunity to help others, and to honor those who have been saved by donations in the past. This is a time when we can share the gift of life, as well as bringing more holiday cheer to those who will benefit from this generous act.”
As an added incentive, every donor who participates will automatically be entered into a sweepstakes to win a pair of tickets to this year’s Super Bowl XLVIII at Metlife Stadium.
As you begin to layer on your winter gear, consider rolling up your sleeves and helping with the students’ mission to collect blood donations and save lives. For more information, contact Angelina at [email protected].
